Industrial Visit

On 8 November 2024, 51 Third-year students from the Department of M.Tech Computer Science and Engineering visited the for an insightful industrial visit. The visit allowed students to explore the practical applications of advanced technologies like Augmented Reality (AR), Virtual Reality (VR), the Internet of Things (IoT), Artificial Intelligence (AI), and Machine Learning (ML) in a real-world manufacturing setting.

The students were given an informative tour of the facility, where they observed how AR and VR are used to enhance safety protocols, training modules, and operational efficiency in manufacturing processes. They had the opportunity to experience AR technology firsthand, witnessing its real-time data overlays that improve decision-making and on-site operations.

The visit also provided a closer look at IoT-based systems, emphasizing the role of connected devices in automating industrial processes and enhancing productivity. In addition, students were introduced to a project demonstrating the application of AI and ML in predictive analytics, quality control, and production line optimization.

The session concluded with an engaging Q&A, where students interacted with industry experts to clarify doubts and gain deeper insights into how these technologies are transforming modern manufacturing. On 22nd October 2024, a group of M.Tech Computer Science Engineering students visited Intellect, a design thinking arena, to explore the innovative methodologies behind design thinking. The visit was an excellent opportunity for students to engage with concepts that are vital in today’s tech-driven landscape.

Upon arrival, the students were introduced to the fundamental principles of design thinking. They learned that design thinking is a user-centered approach to problem-solving that emphasizes empathy, ideation, and experimentation. The session provided insights into how this methodology is applied across various sectors to develop creative solutions.

The visit included discussions on the diverse applications of design thinking. Students discovered its relevance in product design, user experience, and service innovation. The session highlighted real-world examples demonstrating how organizations leverage design thinking to address complex challenges and enhance customer satisfaction.

On 6th July 2024, 61 M.Tech Computer Science Engineering(5 years integrated) students from Sairam Engineering College, Chennai, embarked on an industrial visit to Askan Technologies. The visit provided a unique opportunity for students to immerse themselves in a real-world tech environment.
Upon arrival, the students were given a tour of Askan Technologies, where they observed various components and roles within the company. This tour showcased the practical applications of their academic knowledge, highlighting cutting-edge innovations and industry practices.
A key part of the visit was an insightful session by a resource person from Askan Technologies. She provided a comprehensive overview of what HR professionals expect from freshers, offering valuable tips on how to attend and succeed in interviews. She also discussed the pros and cons of being an entrepreneur, encouraging the students to pursue their goals while offering reality checks about the current IT world. Additionally, she talked about the company’s work culture and internship opportunities.
