Value Added Courses

The Department of M.Tech Computer Science and Engineering (5 Year Integrated), in association with IEEE SMC and Virtusa, successfully organized a 10-Day “Red Hat Hands-on Training Program”

The training sessions were conducted by industry experts:

• Mr. M. N. Babu, RHCI, Vectra Technosoft Pvt. Ltd.
• Mr. Chudalaimuthumani, RHCI, Vectra Technosoft Pvt. Ltd.

The objective of the program was to provide students with practical exposure to Linux administration and Red Hat technologies through intensive hands-on training sessions. Throughout the 10-day program, students actively participated in practical demonstrations, lab activities, and real-time system administration exercises.

The resource persons trained the students in:

• Linux operating system fundamentals
• Red Hat Enterprise Linux administration
• User and file permission management
• Package installation and software management
• Shell scripting basics
• Network and server configuration
• System monitoring and troubleshooting techniques.

The training program enabled students to gain industry-oriented technical skills and understand real-time applications of Linux and Red Hat technologies in enterprise environments. The sessions also created awareness about Red Hat certification pathways and career opportunities in Linux administration, cloud computing, and DevOps.
The interactive nature of the training helped students strengthen their practical knowledge, improve problem-solving abilities, and enhance their readiness for industry requirements.
