The Department of M.Tech Computer Science and Engineering (5 year Integrated) of Sri Sairam Engineering College organized a Five Days Faculty Development Programme (FDP) titled “Frontiers of Intelligence: Next-Gen Technologies Shaping the Future Research” from 29th May to 4th June 2025. The FDP was held in online mode and witnessed active participation from around 70 faculty members and research scholars across various institutions.
The objective of the programme was to equip educators and researchers with comprehensive knowledge of cutting-edge technologies such as Artificial Intelligence, Cloud Computing, Explainable AI, and Cloud Security, thereby preparing them for future advancements in research and teaching methodologies.
The sessions were led by eminent resource persons including Dr. G. Ayyappan from SIMATS, Mrs. K. S. Sathya from cSoft Technologies, Dr. S. Sivagami from SIMATS, and Dr. B. Dhanalakshmi from BSA Crescent University. Topics discussed included Generative and Agentic AI, Cloud-native and DevOps tools, AI in healthcare, Explainable AI using TensorFlow, and security practices in cloud environments.
Each day featured expert talks, interactive discussions, live demonstrations, and practical insights tailored to both academic and industrial applications. The FDP concluded with an assessment and participant feedback session, reflecting the effectiveness and relevance of the programme. Overall, the FDP served as a significant platform for knowledge sharing, innovation, and upskilling, helping faculty stay abreast of the latest technological frontiers in intelligence.
The Department of M.Tech Computer Science and Engineering (5 year Integrated) of Sri Sairam Engineering College organized ISTE Sponsored Faculty Development Programme (FDP) titled “Data Journey: Discovering Science for Visualization” aimed at providing participants with a comprehensive understanding of data visualization, its importance in the modern scientific and technological world, and its application across multiple domains.
The program was conducted over six days, featuring 12 sessions with 12 distinguished resource persons from academia and industry.Around 70 Faculty members from various esteemed institutions participated.The program not only introduced participants to the world of data visualization but also provided them with the practical skills and tools necessary to handle data effectively in their respective fields.
The diverse range of topics covered, from basic principles to advanced techniques, ensured that the program met the needs of attendees with varying levels of expertise. The six-day FDP on Data Science and Visualization provided participants with a comprehensive understanding of the entire data analysis lifecycle, from data collection and preprocessing to advanced visualization and AI-powered analytics. Participants gained hands-on experience with powerful tools such as Power BI, KNIME, and statistical visualization techniques, and are now equipped to implement these skills in their academic and professional environments. The sessions fostered a collaborative learning environment and helped participants stay up to date with the latest trends in data science.

Day 1 covers an introduction to data science, its applications, and the role of visualization. Day 2 focuses on data collection, preprocessing, and data wrangling techniques. Day 3 introduces Power BI for interactive reporting and dashboard creation. Day 4 explores KNIME for workflow-based data analytics and automation. Day 5 delves into exploratory data analysis (EDA) using statistical methods and advanced visualization tools like Seaborn and Plotly. Day 6 discusses AI-powered data analysis, real-world applications of visualization in various domains, and future trends in data analytics. The program provides hands-on experience, equipping participants with essential skills in data processing, visualization, and AI-driven analytics.
